The Earth God, known as Fude Zhengshen or Tudi Gong, is one of the most widely worshipped deities in Chinese folk religion. As the guardian of local land and communities, he blesses harvests, wealth, and safety. Shrines to the Earth God are commonly found near homes, fields, and shops. Representing grassroots devotion, he is a deity closest to daily life and ordinary people.

Confucius, revered as “Master Kong” (Kongzi Gong), is one of China’s greatest philosophers and educators. Though not originally a deity, he was deified in folk tradition as the Guardian of Culture and Wisdom. During the imperial examination era, scholars worshipped him for academic success. Today, Confucian temples remain important sites where students and teachers honor him, praying for knowledge, virtue, and success in studies.

Li Jing, known as the Pagoda-bearing Heavenly King (Tuo Ta Tianwang), is one of the most renowned generals in Chinese mythology. He subdues demons with divine power. Originally a Tang dynasty general, he was later deified as a celestial protector. He worshipped Du’e Zhenren as his teacher, often depicted holding a pagoda. His son Nezha is also a celebrated deity. The pagoda symbolizes wisdom and strength used to suppress evil and safeguard humanity.
